For the past  fourteen years, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, Inc. has conducted summer aviation camps for youth in Kentucky.  Nearly 3,000 students ages 10 –16 have attended. The success of the program can be attributed to an exciting program in aviation and to a staff made up primarily of school teachers. Such a camp will be held once again this summer at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport. Much of the content of the camp utilizes science and math skills to teach navigation, aeronautics, weather, aviation technology, flight simulation, and much more.  The highlight of the camp is a flight in which the student assists the pilot, a Certified Flight Instructor.

Each year, a number of scholarships are awarded to select students. A limited number of scholarships will be available again this year. There will be (1) one camp in Bowling Green, with a maximum of 38 students. The camp dates are scheduled for July 6, 2017 and July 7, 2017. For more information or to apply and pay online, please visit:

On May 22nd, 23rd and 24th, the Commemorative Air Force will be visiting the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport to display four different World War II Aircrafts: A B-29 Superfortress “FIFI”,  a C-45 Expeditor “Bucket of Bolts”,a T-6 Texan “Navy SNJ” and a Boeing Stearman. This event will allow the community to experience the sights and sounds of the Aircrafts and allow the general public the opportunity to get up close and touch the Airplanes, tour the cockpit, talk to the crews, teach the children, and watch the planes fly.
