Bowling Green - Warren County Regional Airport
Hot Rod Power Tour 2010
For the past fourteen years, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, Inc. has conducted summer aviation camps for youth in Kentucky. Nearly 3,000 students ages 10 –16 have attended. The success of the program can be attributed to an exciting program in aviation and to a staff made up primarily of school teachers. Such a camp will be held once again this summer at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport. Much of the content of the camp utilizes science and math skills to teach navigation, aeronautics, weather, aviation technology, flight simulation, and much more. The highlight of the camp is a flight in which the student assists the pilot, a Certified Flight Instructor.
Each year, a number of scholarships are awarded to select students. A limited number of scholarships will be available again this year. There will be (1) one camp in Bowling Green, with a maximum of 38 students. The camp dates are scheduled for July 6, 2017 and July 7, 2017.
